It is our policy at The Grange that secondary education here should be available to any child who could truly benefit from it, regardless of their family's means. To this end, we have established the Access to Excellence Bursary programme, through which we are now in a position to offer financial support of up to 100% of schools fees, depending on a child's ability and the household income (and assets) of their family. For those on full bursaries, there may also be help with uniform purchase and some compulsory school trips. Bursary awards are assessed by means of a standard formula produced by the Independent Schools' Bursars Association.
Although we intend to grow this provision over coming years, numbers of bursaries are limited. Applications need to be made well in advance of any entrance assessment.
Staff in the school's Bursary Department will be able to send out application and financial assessment forms and also deal with any questions and queries you may have about how the system works and awards are assessed.
1. When there is already one child from a family attending the school, there is a 10% reduction in fees for each younger brother/sister.
2. The Governors reserve the right to alter, from time to time, the fees payable and/or the value of, or rate of discount applying to, any allowance, scholarship or bursary awarded by the school.
3. The Governors shall give one full term's notice of any alteration to the amount of fees payable and/or the value of, or rate of discount applying to, any allowance, scholarship or bursary awarded by the school.
