A very cold January morning saw an excited Prep 3 set off to visit the neighbouring historical city of Chester. The day began at the Grosvenor museum, Chester’s biggest collection of local and international history.

Pupils discovered 2000 years of life spread over three floors, from the impressive collection of Roman tombstones and fascinating displays of Roman Chester to handling Roman artefacts in the classroom and viewing a life size model of a Roman legionary.
The afternoon allowed the children the opportunity to dress as the Romans did and take a guided tour of the city, learning about the battle of Queens Boudica.
