The classroom session was excellent and some fantastic questions were put by the children, especially regarding pets and fire escape plans. They were surprised to learn that whilst pets are not the first priority of the fire service, they did in fact try to save them if safe to do so.
The experience of being in the Smoke Tent will not be forgotten in a hurry. The children huddled together as plumes of smoke began to fill the tent, from the roof down. In an alarmingly short space of time it became impossible for the children to see their hands, even when held in front of their faces. Thank you to the Fire Service for taking the time to come and visit us and for delivering their important message.
