After some free time in Oxford the choir rehearsed in the beautiful surroundings of the college chapel, and their singing sounded wonderful in the generous acoustics.
After the rehearsal the choir went across to the Rector’s Lodgings for refreshments and an entertaining talk about life as an Oxford organ or choral scholar by the current Exeter organ scholar, Mr Tim Muggeridge.
This was followed by an atmospheric service of Choral Evensong with music by Rutter, Stanford and Balfour Gardiner.
The experience has got some of our students thinking about choral awards at university and as always it was a pleasure to work with such a lovely group of young people.
Many thanks to Mr Madden, Mrs Bloor and Mrs Millinchip for attending the trip and Mr Chris Stubbs for his excellent organ accompaniments.
