The inclement weather did not dampen spirits one iota – in fact, the opportunity to get muddy and jump in puddles was embraced by all!
Nine staff accompanied the children on the bracing five-mile circuit around Blakemere Moss and up to the top of Pale Heights, where the cloud cleared to offer some greats views of the surrounding countryside.
Some of the staff had also brought along their dogs which added to the enjoyment of the morning as almost all the children took it in turns to walk at least one of them.
Over the course of this year, Mr Rands intends to run a small number of these half day walks for Junior School pupils within or around Cheshire.
This is to provide an opportunity for the children to get outside with their friends and enjoy the local environment through the seasons, whilst also providing the chance for staff to spend time informally chatting with the pupils, whilst everyone is getting some exercise.
The feedback from the children was extremely positive and so the next Headmaster’s Walk is planned for Saturday 13th December when it will no doubt be a touch colder and crisper under foot!
