Evensong at Chester Cathedral

40 members of the junior section of Cantores Roborienses, The Grange School Choir, sang Choral Evensong in the splendid surroundings of Chester Cathedral this week.

After a rehearsal in the cathedral (interrupted by a visit from Boris Johnson no less!) the choir sang beautifully at Evensong, with music including the anthem, 'Ex ore innocentium' by John Ireland, and the 'Whitegate Service', a setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis by our Director of Music, Andrew Millinchip.

Mr Chris Stubbs gave a stirring rendition of Liszt's 'Prelude and Fugue on B.A.C.H.' as the choir processed out. All who came into contact with the choir were impressed by their fine singing and impeccable behaviour. Our next Choral Evensong will be with the senior choir in Tewkesbury Abbey on October 3rd.
