Each House was represented by three pupils, and the task was to create a ‘traybake’ of their choice, either chilled or baked.
The students made a variety of traybakes from Brownies and Blondies to Sponge Cakes and Smores. A variety of skills were needed for the task including melting chocolate, whisking and folding.
The competition was judged (without House bias!) by Miss Dickens and Mrs Eaton. They were very impressed by the skill demonstrated by the pupils. Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry would have been very proud! Many staff came to offer their support and encouragement which was really appreciated by those who took part.
Matthew Newton (Bollin) and Ewan McKenna (Dane) shared individual first place with their Blondies and Digestive Biscuit Bars. Matthew Jones (Weaver) following closely in second place with his beautifully presented Brownies.
The results were very close, with only four points separating first and fourth place. However, after much deliberation, Dane achieved overall first place thanks to the impressive effort from Ewan McKenna, Molly White and Camille Walsh.
