I don’t think I have ever met a child (or an adult) who enjoys making a mistake. Children strive to get things right for most of the time and naturally feel embarrassed when they get something wrong. However, as adults, we know that it is through our mistakes that we learn a great deal about ourselves and the world around us.
Consequently, we have been encouraging the children, through stories, to learn from their own mistakes. To help with this, one of the steps we have been promoting is for children to share their mistakes with someone else, especially an adult. Whilst not always easy to do, sharing a mistake often helps children to think through solutions for the future.
