Fairtrade Cookery

Students in the Senior School showed their support for the world’s small scale farmers and workers by taking part in a Fairtrade cookery competition, as part of Fairtrade fortnight.

Students were imaginative in their choice of dishes, the range included; Shortbread, Brownies, Muffins, Chocolate Sponge Cake, Cookies and a wide variety of Cupcakes.

Michael Hennessey from IICJO scooped first prize on day one by creating beautiful Salted Caramel Brownies. Day two crowned Olivia Harding 1JEM the winner, with fantastically light Marbled Chocolate Sponge, decorated to display the Fairtrade name. The winners received organic, Fairtrade Easter Eggs.
