Local MP Faces Grilling from Sixth Formers

Sixth Form Politics and Government students took the opportunity to quiz Graham Evans, MP for Weaver Vale, when he visited The Grange recently.

Students pre-prepared thought-provoking questions for our local MP concerning issues ranging from the controversial housing developments in Hartford to his stance on the EU Referendum. We even proposed a question as to whom he would support as the next Conservative leader. One of the most fascinating questions and responses concerned House of Lords reform as this is a topic the Lower Sixth have studied in significant depth.

He also gave us an insight as to what it is like to be an MP. We learnt about the commitment that is required and how much dedication is mandatory to succeed in the role. It was a privilege to have the opportunity to learn from Mr. Evans whilst also being able to raise with him many of the issues that concern us and other young people in our constituency.
