Year IV students got ready for September’s Bronze assessed expedition with a practice run in and around Gradbach on the Derbyshire/Cheshire border. Despite some very wet weather conditions the 89 students and ten staff present had a very enjoyable experience in the rugged Peak District terrain.
The 42 Year V students on the Silver programme fine-tuned their outdoor skills on a practice expedition in Bala before heading off to the Lake District for their assessed expedition in late June.
The Gold students, meanwhile, warmed up (in a wet sort of way) for their forthcoming trip to Nepal with an expedition in North Wales over the Easter weekend. The Gold Nepal team will be away for most of July; they will be based around Kathmandu and plan to trek to Annapurna Base Camp at 4130m.
