A staggering 25 pupils have either recently received their Gold Award or will shortly do so. Ten Grange participants made the trip to St. James’ Palace in September, with six more due to go in December and nine awaiting their invitations.
The September group included former student Millie Hawes who worked her way through the scheme despite having muscular dystrophy and being confined to a wheelchair. They enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at the palace and received their Gold Awards from his Royal Highness, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.
In June Mr Jeffery and Mrs Broderick were invited to Buckingham Palace as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. A further two Grange participants were presented with their Gold Award at that time and the school received a plaque in recognition of its position as a Licenced D of E Centre – a major accolade for the school.
