Impressive performances by Grange pupils at the NSEA

Over the last four years The Grange School have successfully fielded equestrian teams and individuals, in Show Jumping and Dressage competitions throughout the year across Cheshire, to qualify for the NSEA (National Schools Equestrian Association) at Addington Manor, Buckinghamshire.

This year seven girls from the Senior School, ranging from 11 to 16 years of age, consisting of two teams with Sophie Sellers, Mia Brown, Tamara Fifield and Verity Sellers competing and two individuals, Lucy Lanni and Kate Samuel. The 'Champs' as it is fondly known as is held over 4 days in which there is fierce competition from some 75 schools with approximately 900 horses and riders competing from all over the country.

The strong team, which had subsequently lost a member due to a suspected appendicitis, came 2nd in the 75 Show Jumping competition out of a total of 37 teams from across the country. They went on to secure 6th place in the 75 Arena Eventing (Jumping with Styl) competition out of 34 teams.

Lucy Lanni came an impressive 1st place in the 1.10m Show Jumping individual class out of 34 and then was invited to ride as part of the prestigious England team in the Nations Cup 2016 where they were successful in securing 1st place!
