Year 11 students have been enjoying a “Puzzle Room” designed to support their knowledge of key texts for their Literature GCSE.
Teams of 3 or 4 students found themselves in Dr Jekyll's office and encountered a series of puzzles based upon key themes, quotations and characters from the Gothic text. Solving the puzzles revealed the password which would release them before the return of the evil Mr Hyde.
Although Ms McKeown was on hand to offer a clue to one or two teams, the independence and problem-solving on show was excellent and every team managed to escape within the thirty minute time limit. Pantelis Stylianou, who was part of a team that escaped with a nail-biting 18 seconds remaining said, "we really enjoyed the change of environment; it was a completely different situation to learn themes and quotations".
