Scoring a 100% pass rate and with 63% of grades at A or A* (the school’s second best result ever) and 86% at B grade or better, it proved to be yet another excellent year for the school. 37of the 91 students achieved at least 3 A or A* grades, 5 of those gaining A* grades in all their A-levels.
Pride of place went to Victoria Gough, who secured a coveted place to read Engineering at Peterhouse College, Cambridge by scoring 4 A* grades, having -with support from the Maths Department- taught herself much of the Further Maths syllabus in her spare time over the past year!
Headmaster Chris Jeffery said ‘These results are once again both really impressive and highly gratifying.
The most important aspect for us is the progress that the final grades represent for this particular cohort: no other group over the past twelve years has improved its results so much between GCSE and A-level, which is testimony to the character and determination of this lovely group of young people.
It also says so much about the skill that their teachers possess in getting the very best out of them: on average our statistics show that we are adding more than half a grade in each subject to each pupil’s measured potential.”
