The course will focus on devising, developing and producing creative work using a variety of film and animation techniques. Students will learn a range of practical skills and creative thinking, underpinned by theoretical knowledge gained from analysing examples of film and animation such as structure, genre, narrative technique, story-boarding, composition and music. Students will learn to apply these processes through the creation of different film and animation projects – planning and shooting footage, editing and
sequencing and refining work using post production software. The projects will be structured to provide the freedom to experiment and negotiate individual direction, which could be traditional film-making, digital animation, stop motion, artists moving image or projection-mapped installations.
