The Grange has never been a school to stand still!
As a relatively young school in a lively and competitive market, we spent many of our early years in 'catching up', in terms of our facilities, with the more established schools around us; the physical development of both sites was a top priority at that time.
In more recent years, while the process has slowed and the quality of our provision inside our classrooms has been our major focus, we have still built several new buildings development of The Grange Theatre; The Junior School sports hall, music and science extension and the pavilion at New Fields - which have greatly enhanced the life of our community, and demonstrate the quality we now aspire to as an established and successful institution.
The new Sixth Form facility, completed in September 2014, sits on the north eastern corner of the Senior School site, beyond The Grange Theatre and Performing Arts building. It is a two storey, pavilion-style building, with a terrace and garden to the rear, which is designed to minimise the impact of the building on the neighbouring properties.
The Grange has made the development of sport a priority over recent years, with the building of the Junior School Sports Hall, the multi-use pitches at the Senior School and the pavilion at the playing fields. Situated at the top of the site and with direct access to Top Field and the all -weather facilities.
The construction of a new 2500 square metre, £6m Sports Centre at the Senior School has begun with the new exciting facilities and set to be fully completed for September 2018.
Sport and exercise is an integral part of a Grange education both within the curriculum and as part of an extensive enrichment offering. In recent years the school has enjoyed considerable national success in netball, hockey, rowing and athletics, whilst also encouraging participation at all levels of sport for general fitness and well being.
This fantastic new facility will encourage even greater participation in sport and the development of a healthy and active lifestyle for all. It will also act as a home for the school’s elite performers and, no doubt, a springboard to further sporting success at the highest levels for many years to come.
