Life as a Junior
As soon as the children arrive at school, they are welcomed by our friendly staff.
WHETHER IT’S AN EARLY MORNING arrival at our Earlybirds wraparound care service (from 7.30am), stepping off one of the many buses we provide from home to school, or walking with mum and dad into their classroom, there is always someone there to meet and look after them.
With a thriving assembly programme to set the tone for each day and celebrate the array of individual and group achievements, the children are engaged in their learning from the moment they arrive.
A Vast & Varied Curriculum
CHILDREN START THE EARLY YEARS with a Form Teacher who focuses on helping them master literacy and numeracy. As they progress through the school, they meet more subject-specific teachers who lead lessons in music, art, science, computing, design, languages, humanities, and sports. They have the chance to learn in bright, well-designed classrooms, as well as specialist facilities that you'd only usually find in secondary schools such a laboratory, Design and Technology suite and dedicated art room.
No two days are alike, thanks to the dynamic and varied activities we offer to support their learning—think regular visitors, trips, sports fixtures, and events throughout the year. Outdoor education is a key part of what we do, starting from Reception, with access to sand, mud, and woodland play areas within the school grounds. Older year groups also have the chance to go on residential trips to places like the Lake District, North Wales, France, and Spain.
Exploring, Playing, & Wellbeing
WHILE LEARNING IS THREADED THROUGH everything we do, we also know that play and relaxation are just as important. With regular breaks throughout the day, all our children have access to well-equipped outdoor play areas, where our team of staff supports and encourages constructive play. Thanks to our fantastic on-site catering, we make sure the children enjoy hearty, healthy meals to keep their energy up. We also offer a range of optional lunchtime activities to spark their interests, from chess and textiles to gardening, computing, singing, and hockey, just to name a few. |

At the end of each day, the children leave feeling tired, yet happy and content. While many head home to relax, others stay on to enjoy after-school sports clubs or take part in our Sundowners wraparound care service, which runs until 6:00pm.
