Our Mission

  • We are committed to fostering academic excellence, personal growth, and a strong sense of social responsibility through a balanced and forward-thinking educational approach.

  • We are dedicated to preparing our students, not only for academic success, but also for meaningful and fulfilling lives as compassionate, innovative, and responsible global citizens.

Our Values

Holistic Education
Understanding, educating and developing the ‘whole person’ intellectually, emotionally, socially, physically, artistically, creatively, and spiritually. We seek to foster a balanced development of a student's cognitive and non-cognitive abilities, promoting self-awareness, critical thinking, empathy, and a sense of connection to others and the environment.
Academic Excellence
Achieving outstanding performance and mastery in educational pursuits through the development of intellectual curiosity, discipline, and a commitment to continuous learning. For us at The Grange School, academic excellence transcends grades and fosters well-rounded individuals ready to make meaningful contributions to the world, it is about helping each and every student be the best they can.
Innovation In Every Act
The ability to ‘fail-safe’ is vital to learning. We encourage our staff and students to innovate and experiment wherever possible, knowing that whatever the outcome there will be valuable learning. We strive to seek new perspectives and be ever curious in pursuit of greater understanding.
Celebrating Individual Success
Personal success is like a thumbprint – unique. Every student will carve a different path and triumph in their own ways. We aim to recognise and celebrate this, and at the same time help their peers to do the same. We want students to find their song and sing it.
Preparing For Their World
We are here to nurture young minds for their version of this world. Economic, political and environmental landscapes are constantly changing, and we build in cutting-edge experiences, technologies and forward-thinking to prepare our students to embrace their future.
Ensuring Everyone Belongs
No student will ever feel like they don’t belong, regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexuality, ability, neurodiversity, nationality or financial circumstance. A Grange School education is inclusive and welcoming.

Our School Values

THESE ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS AND behaviours that The Grange Community aspires to. They set an expectation for not only the way we treat each other both in and out of school, but also how we approach our work and think about ourselves.

At The Grange, we believe an education is more than simply the teaching of academic subjects. Our approach encourages students to be challenged, empowered, and creative in everything they do, to always aspire to do more.  We create a safe space to test theories, challenge the norm, express ourselves and learn from our experiences. In this immersive learning environment, our students actively explore topics more deeply, learning not only the knowledge needed to pass exams, but developing the analytical skills and how to apply their knowledge to solve problems thinking beyond what they are simply taught.

Dedicated, learner-focused teachers, coupled with exceptional facilities and a broad programme of enrichment activities, ensure each student receives a well-rounded education that prepares them for success beyond the classroom. They leave The Grange equipped as ambitious, respectful, resilient, and confident individuals, ready to make a positive impact on the world.

Our Ethos

Personal Challenge, Individual Focus

HERE AT THE GRANGE, WE embrace a vibrant ethos centred around the dual pillars of personal challenge and unwavering support for every individual.

We believe true growth occurs when individuals are inspired, encouraged and nurtured, when they challenge themselves, and when they pursue excellence in all aspects of their lives.

We know that the whole school community plays its part in this growth; teachers, support staff, counsellors, coaches, peers, parents and alumni. Together, they form a network, a school ‘family’, dedicated to nurturing students' potential and fostering holistic development.

THE RESULT? A PLACE TO BUILD A FUTURE TOGETHER.

Our Culture

THE GRANGE SCHOOL PROMOTES A culture built on kindness, honesty, and integrity. Upholding high standards of behaviour, good manners, self-discipline and respect creates a safe and positive environment for everyone.

While healthy and constructive competition is encouraged, both effort AND achievement are recognised and rewarded, so too is collaboration. We emphasise the importance of supporting and celebrating each other's accomplishments, fostering a spirit of support and shared success. A school culture that values both individual strengths and the power of teamwork creates a well-rounded learning environment and a supportive, positive community.

In accordance with its foundation, the School’s religious ethos is Christian, but we welcome those of all denominations and faiths - and those with none - provided that this ethos is respected.
