Academic excellence for life

IT IS THE GRANGE SCHOOL’S commitment to an all-round holistic education that marks us out as an exceptional school. Our consistenly excellent A Level results have established The Grange as one of the best performing schools in the North West of England.

We are particularly proud that our students regularly achieve significantly higher A Level grades than sophisticated benchmarking data would forecast. These results are due to personal ambition and commitment, combined with the unrivalled support and guidance offered by The Grange School.

Leadership, Enrichment, & Co-curricular

THE FOCUS FOR ENRICHMENT AND Co-curricular activities shifts in Sixth Form with more opportunity to lead and influence. From Senior Prefects and Heads of School to School and House Captains, our sixth formers take on key responsibilities within school, acting as role models and supporting both staff and fellow students.

Trips and travel now take the form of longer ‘expeditions’ such as trekking in Costa Rica, supporting schools in Peru and The Gambia as well as shorter visits often supporting the curriculum. Sport remains hugely popular as ado music, art and drama where sixth former take an active role in shaping and organising activities.

Pastoral
care

SAFE, LISTENED TO, AND CARED FOR. The Grange School excels in Pastoral Care, helping all our students feel safe, listened to, and cared for. We place enormous value and importance on supporting our young peoples’ overall wellbeing, mental health: encouraging good friendships, and dealing with any problems like bullying or stress.

Good pastoral aims to ensure every student feels happy, confident, and ready to learn. It's about making sure no one is left behind, both in the classroom and in life, we prepare students for more than just exams. Our school community is built on kindness, respect, and trust—making it a place where everyone belongs and is encouraged to be their best self every day.
