Rowing at The Grange
THE GRANGE SCHOOL ROWING CLUB has an enviable reputation and hugely popular. Students as young as 10 and 11 are introduced to rowing in Year 6, starting off solely on the ergs (rowing machines). At the end of Year 8 students head onto the water for the first time before increasing their river-based training as they progress. The Senior School Sports Centre house 23 Concept 3 ergs and boasts a newly refurbished strength and conditioning suite both of which support our rowers’ water-based training. |
|
Starting back in 1985 with just a handful of pupils and two boats it has grown to a vibrant and successful club of over 150 pupils, 14 coaches and, 70 boats with a boathouse located on the stunning River Weaver.
Often hailed as the ultimate team sport, rowing offers students a special combination of physical, mental, and social advantages. Our rowing club recognises the valuable discipline and camaraderie cultivated through this sport, which can greatly contribute to a student's holistic growth.

Rowing is fully integrated into the school calendar and provides the opportunity to compete at a local, national and international level.
