The Grange School celebrates an excellent set of A Level results
Students at The Grange School are celebrating today after achieving an excellent set of A-level results and securing places at a wide range of leading universities, specialist institutions and highly competitive apprenticeship pathways.
More than one-third of the cohort achieved at least three A* or A grades, while 85% of all grades awarded were at A* to B. The results also place The Grange within the top 10% of schools nationally for value added at A-level.
Dr Lorraine Earps, Headteacher of The Grange School, said:
"We are enormously proud of every one of our students. These results reflect their hard work, determination and commitment, but they also represent so much more than grades alone.
"What is particularly pleasing is to see students moving on to such a wide range of exciting destinations, each reflecting their individual strengths, interests and ambitions. Whether they are progressing to university, specialist study or an apprenticeship, they leave us ready to embrace the opportunities ahead.
"Today is also an opportunity to recognise the dedication of our teaching and support staff, and the encouragement provided by families throughout the students' time at The Grange. It has been a genuine team effort, and I offer my warmest congratulations to the whole cohort."
Among the many individual successes is Rachel Tabb, who achieved three A* grades in History, Mathematics and Economics and will go on to study Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University.
Rachel said:
"I'm absolutely thrilled with my results and excited to be heading to Oxford. The support from my teachers and the wider staff at The Grange has been incredible. Having joined the school in Year 3, I've experienced first-hand the strong sense of community that makes The Grange so special.
"My teachers have always known me as an individual and supported me every step of the way. My parents, friends and teachers have all contributed to this success and I couldn't be more grateful."
Shlok Ramakrishnan achieved three A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, alongside an A in his EPQ, and will be studying Medicine at University College London. Reflecting the breadth of talent and interests nurtured at The Grange, Shlok is equally passionate about the performing arts and is currently appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe in the title role of Evan Hansen in Dear Evan Hansen.
Alice Tovell has secured a highly competitive apprenticeship with the Atlassian Williams Formula One Team. As one of the sport's most historic and recognisable teams, Williams offers opportunities that attract talented applicants from across the country. Through her apprenticeship, Alice will combine professional training with experience in a high-performance environment at the forefront of engineering and innovation. Her achievement highlights the growing range of prestigious pathways available to Grange students beyond traditional university routes.
Katie Round achieved A* grades in Art, Textiles and Visual Communications and will progress to the Royal School of Needlework. Recognised internationally as one of the leading institutions for the study of hand embroidery and textile art, the Royal School of Needlework offers highly specialised training to a small number of talented students each year. Its graduates go on to careers in areas including fashion, costume and textile design, heritage conservation, curation and specialist commissions, and are regularly involved in nationally significant projects. Katie's place is a reflection of both her exceptional creative talent and the dedication she has shown in developing her artistic practice throughout her time at The Grange.
Further notable achievements include:
Nigel Ma, who achieved four A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics and will study Medicine at Newcastle University.
Joshua Whiteman, who secured three A* grades in Mathematics, Geography and Visual Communications and will read Geography at the University of Bristol.
Harriet Storer, who achieved A* grades in Art, Business and Economics, alongside an A in her EPQ, and will study Business and Economics at the University of Leeds.
Rory O'Keeffe, who achieved three A* grades in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics, plus an A in Further Mathematics, and will study Computational Physics at the University of Edinburgh.
Benji Rawling, who achieved A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Geography and will progress to the University of Bristol to study Medicine. Having attended The Grange since Reception, Benji credits the continuity of support and strong relationships with staff for helping him to develop both academically and personally. His ambition to become a doctor was inspired through work experience at Macclesfield Hospital.
