Oscars Come Calling for Annie Cusselle

Year 12 student, Annie Cusselle, was thrilled to discover that The Silent Child, a short film in which she played a major role, won an Oscar at the recent Academy Awards!

The film tells the story of Libby, a profoundly deaf four-year-old girl, who lives a silent life until a social worker teaches her how to communicate through sign language. Annie plays the role of Pip, the older sister of Libby. The film won the Oscar for the best Live Action Short Film.

“We are thrilled that one of our students has not only had the opportunity to take part in such a thought provoking performance but, has contributed to what has been an amazing success for the British film industry and highlights the high calibre of students that we have at The Grange School,” said Mrs Leonard, Head of School.
